The Lolly Hansen Senior Center is the newest location for our Beginners Fencing Classes, serving students from
Tracy and nearby towns in California's Central Valley.
These are the beginners classes for all ages, from 6 to 106! Come and learn the basics of the modern
sport with professional fencing coaches. You'll get to try fencing in full fencing gear. We use actual
competition-quality fencing epees and electronic scoring equipment in every class!
Location: Lolly Hansen Senior Center, 375 E 9th Street, Tracy, CA 95304
The facility is well lit, air-conditioned, with high ceiling and the parking lot right outside the front door. The spacious room can
accomodate 10 fencers for footwork and drills, and 4 fencing strips with room to mingle
and rest between the bouts. Friends, parents, and kids are welcome to stay in and watch the class.
Schedule: Tuesdays, 7:00 - 8:15 PM (4 classes in each session)
Class fee: $90/session, due before the first class.
Prerequisits: None, besides being healthy enough for vigorous exercise (please note that we have wheelchair fencing program, too).
Equipment: We provide all the fencing equipment; Our students can use club's equipment in classes and trainings for as long as they want. All we ask from you is to come in T-shirt, athletic pants or warmups, covering whole leg (i.e. no shorts), and sneakers. We'll also ask you to wear socks which are long enough that the skin between the sock and the leg is never exposed.
